Golf for Disabled: Rocchetti, National Champion Again

Two FIGD main tournaments closed yesterday, at the Golf Club dei Laghi, in Varese: the Italian Open, for players coming from all over Europe, and the National Championship, which was played by twelve Italian golfers.
The global crisis has affected the number of participants (in 2011 they were almost double), yet the race was up to expectations.
The National Championship was won again by Pierfederico Rocchetti, with a gross score of 175.
The other best results are those Mauro Salvato (1° Net 1° category - 168), Anthonio Mandich (2° Net 1° category - 176), Rodolfo Cappellazzo (1° net 2° category - 62), and Alberto Missiaia (2° Net 2° category - 56).
The Italian Open was played by 44 athletes from Switzerland, France, Spain, Finland, Netherlands, Czech Republic, Sweden, Great Britain and, of course, Italy. On the podium, only foreign athletes:
Cynthia Van Der Zwet - 1° Gross Senior - 201
Tineke Loogman - 1° Gross Lady - 195
Pierjean Frison - 1° Gross 1° category - 171
Andy Gardiner - 1° Net 1° category - 164
Hassan Chakboub - 1° Gross 2° category - 184
Mike Lincoln - 1° Net 2° category - 164.

Among the Italians, the best scores were by Rodolfo Cappellazzo, 1° Net - 3° category (62) and Mirko Ghiggeri, 3° Net 4° category (43).
