Camilla Bernini Zeigler
Began playing golf at the age of 23. On her way to become a professional, she lost her left arm. Facing this new challenge she asked Inail, a prosthetic company, and University Politecnico di Milano for help. They built her an astonishing titanium golf arm; as a result she started competing again after long hard self training. Following years of tournaments and more than two hundred wins as an amateur, Camilla is now certified instructor after she came first in her class in USGTF School in Florida. Beside teaching she has written for and appeared in golf publications across Europe and the U.S. She was the first AGID golfer.
From 2012 she will coach the Montgomery County Community College women's golf team.
These are her best results as disabled player: 1997 First Unofficial European Championship for Disable Golfers Sweden (2nd); 1999 National Amputee Championship USA (1st); 1999 European Championship (2nd); 1999 Canadian Amputee Open (1st); 2000 National Amputee Championship USA (1st); 2000 Canadian Amputee Open (1st); 2001 National Amputee Championship USA (3rd); 2001 13th New England Amputee Open (1st); 2002 National Amputee Championship USA (2nd); 2002 Italian Open for Disable (1st lady); 2003 National Amputee Championship USA (3rd); 2004 National Amputee Championship USA (3rd); 2005 National Amputee Championship USA (3rd); 2006 National Amputee Championship USA (2nd).
She is married with Brad (he’s an amputee golfers, too) and they have a wonderful Golden Retriever named Kash.
